ADHD Testing

Individuals with ADHD may experience ongoing patterns of:

  • Difficulty paying attention (Inattention)
  • Having too much energy or moving and talking too much (Hyperactivity)
  • Acting without thinking or having difficulty with self-control (Impulsivity)

Some individuals with ADHD may have symptoms of inattention. Others may have symptoms of hyperactivity-impulsivity. And there are individuals that have both types of symptoms. Living with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) can be difficult because the symptoms can make everyday activities a challenge.

ADHD can be subtle and difficult to diagnose. The symptoms of ADHD can affect an individual’s ability to reach their highest potential at work, in school, and in their personal life. Some symptoms of ADHD are common in other mental health disorders and non-psychiatric conditions as well. Common treatments for ADHD can include medication, therapy and other behavioral treatments, or a combination of these methods.

Summit Counseling offers a comprehensive diagnostic evaluation by an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider with specific focus on ADHD. The evaluation will consider whether the symptoms belong to ADHD, another mental health condition, another physical health condition, or if they represent more than one disorder.
